What can you expect from this PADI open water course in Thailand?

The PADI E-Learning is a new product from PADI that makes the dive theory very easy to complete and can be downloaded on any Apple or Android device before you even arrive on Koh Samui, which leaves more free time for you on your vacation.

After you book, we will send you a code with instructions and you can start working on your theory from your home in advance or even on the long, boring plane ride to Koh Samui. This would eliminate most of the classroom portion of your course and allow you to complete the course in less than 3 full days.

Confined Pool Session

On your first day of the course we will pick you up between 8:15-9:00 am in the morning (depending on your hotel location) and bring you to our dive facility where you will meet one of our friendly dive instructors. Your instructor will do a review with you of your theory and then you will get acquainted with the equipment before starting the confined pool session.

At this point you will do your confined water training at one of our pools, with small groups you can complete all of your confined water training in one day.

In your confined water dives you will learn all you need to know in how to use scuba equipment and be able to handle yourself under water as well as being prepared for any situation in the open water. We prefer to take a little more time with you in the pool so that you are 100% comfortable when you go diving in the open water. Not only will you learn a lot, you will a have a lot of fun swimming around under water.

Open Water Dives

The open water portion of the course consists of 4 open water dives over two days where you will perform various dive skills both under water and at the surface to make sure that you are a competent and safe diver. We break up the skills over 4 dives so that you only are doing a few skills each dive and get to spend the majority of your time diving with your instructor and exploring the underwater world.

Your first open water day will start with us picking you up at your hotel approximately 7:00 am. We will take you to the boat pier where you will meet up with your instructor and set up your equipment on the boat. The boat ride to of one Thailand’s best dive spots, Koh Tao, will take approximately 90 minutes and upon arrival you will do your first dive in one of the shallow bays of Koh Tao. In-between dives you will enjoy some lunch and rest up for your second dive. After your second dive the boat will return to Koh Samui and usually returns about 3:00-3.30 pm.

Open Water Scuba Training and PADI Certification

Your second day of open water training will start again with a pickup at 7:00. Depending on the dive site that we go to for your 3rd and 4th dive the boat ride will be anywhere form 45-90 minutes. You will do your two completion or “graduation dives” with lunch in between again and will return to Koh Samui between 1:15 and 3:30.

Now it’s time to party!! Congratulations, you are now a PADI open water diver and are permitted to dive to depths up to 18 meters and able to rent diving equipment and tanks all over the world.
